My publicist for my new book asked me to start a #substack, but I do not want to be a #substackwriter. It can’t be true that we need to be generating so many different kinds of digital media to do our part as poets. And besides, I am team #snailmail all the way.
By snail mail, I don’t just mean a piece of paper in a standard issue envelope. I mean art and découpage and found treasures and homemade envelopes and more. So my newsletter is a compromise; I’ll do one, but only if I can make and send it by hand. It will be monthly, with a calendar on the front and some poems, thoughts, and poem-thoughts on the back, possibly a prompt or a prayer too.
